When John Lunger joined Adaptimmune in 2017, the company was around 19 people and scaling fast, with complexity on the horizon. You don’t have finished goods inventory to lean on.” Across the entire partnership, Adaptimmune never once had to halt manufacturing or lab operations due to a material supply issue.
MyAmici’s role evolved alongside Adaptimmune’s growth – moving from sourcing support into full GMP operations, warehouse material management in Philadelphia, and integration with financial systems, all supporting the rigour needed to pass FDA review and reach commercial-scale manufacturing in the US.
The pace of that evolution was set early. John gave MyAmici two weeks to source all QC equipment, secure better raw material pricing, and stand up inventory management from scratch. “It was a big ask,” he recalled. “But it worked.”
